What is a web site?

A web site is essentially an on line extension of your business. It is not an end in itself - it is a means to an end - and that end is making your business more profitable.

In its simplest form a web site is like an electronic brochure. It has a front page designed to get your attention and to read inside, a page describing your business, one or two pages giving some details about the products or services supplied by your business, perhaps another page with some information about key personnel and a contact form to enable potential customers to make a formal enquiry. It may also include a page with links to other related web sites.

Many small businesses may not progress much beyond that. For others, however, the site might be expanded to include an online store, take bookings or do simulation of custom - built products.
